What to do

Florida's hydrogeology, karst and water resources Tampa Bay Watch is not a group of lifeguards looking pretty on the beach, it's a non-profit group dedicated to protecting Tampa Bay's wetlands and marine environments. This program, led by Ann Tihansky of the U.S. Geological Survey, will lend an understanding of the ground beneath our feet, including Florida's springs, sinkholes, ridges, lakes, ponds and karst topography. 7 p.m. today Tampa Bay Watch, 3000 Pinellas Bayway S, St. Petersburg. Free. (727) 343-1272.

Sonya White A Southern Fried Chick from CMT, White has appeared on Last Comic Standing, Girls Behaving Badly, Star Search and the Jerry Springer Show. She's known for her clean cut, rootin'-tootin', hog callin', naughty but nice baseball and apple pie stand-up routines. 8 p.m. today Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, 5223 N Orient Road, Tampa. $20. (813) 627-7625.

Monday Night Movies at Ringling: 'Cabaret' You may not know this, but before her recurring role as Lucille Austero on the staggeringly-funny-yet-ratings-deprived show Arrested Development, Liza Minnelli was something of a song and dance gal. Okay, just kidding. The daughter of Judy Garland, Minnelli has been a smash hit since she reached the top with this 1972 film adaptation of the musical that went on to win eight Oscars, including one for herself. 7 p.m. today Historic Asolo Theatre, 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota. $7. (941) 360-7399. asolo.org..
