What to do today

Business Before Pleasure album release party: Two friends from Middleton High School — Physical and J. Wood — and a California recruit — J. Britt — have been turning heads as the freshest faces of Florida hip-hop after the success of two 2007 singles. Now their group, T.M.P. (Too Much Pride) is back with a full-length album and a host of special guests. Get up close with the group at tonight's party with autographs, photos and free copies of the album. 9 p.m. Hip Hop Soda Shop, 1241 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. $10. Bring a canned good and receive $2 off.

Turkey Bowl III: Got Wednesday off work too? Spend tonight at MacDinton's for the third annual Turkey Bowl. That's right, you're bowling with frozen turkeys for prizes. Don't worry, after a few $4 Wild Turkeys, the whole thing will make a lot more sense. 405 Howard Ave. S, Tampa. Free.

Freight Train Annie's Girlie Show: The monthly "femme-centric show" returns tonight hosted by Tampa Bay scene stalwart (and Skipper's beer-slinger) Freight Train Annie. It may be a girlie show, but have no doubt, these ladies can lay down a groove. This month's show features indie solo signer/songwriter Stephanie Anderson and the funky blues of Maggie Council. 8 p.m. Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, Tampa. $7. (813) 977-6474.

Underoath: There always seemed something contradictory about Christian metal bands, but there is no doubt that Tampa's own Underoath has earned its way to the top of the secular rock charts. Drugs, drama and dirty laundry have challenged the band and made the huge success of its sixth album, Lost in the Sound of Separation, even more unlikely. Then again, getting a song in the Madden '09 video game doesn't hurt either. 6 p.m. Ritz Ybor, 1503 E Seventh Ave., Tampa. $24. (813) 247-2555.

And more: It may seem quiet before the Turkey Day storm, but you can still find plenty of things to do today — or any time — at

What to watch for

Thursday: Make a little room for stuffing yourself with stuffing by joining in the 30th running of the St. Petersburg Times Turkey Trot in Clearwater.

Thursday: Then if you're not passed out on the couch watching football after your meal, head over to Kennedy for the 13 Ugly Men's Get Roasted party.
