What to do today

Conor Oberst: As a certified member of the Former Future-Bob-Dylan Club, Overst recently has shed the critical burden of Bright Eyes and is touring as a solo artist. As a staunch Obama supporter, we can only hope the moody and melodramatic singer takes on a more optimistic tone now the election is over. If you want to hear his latest EP, Gentleman's Pact, you'll have to go to tonight's show. The run of 1,000 copies is only available there. 8 p.m. Jannus Landing, 16 Second St. N, St. Petersburg. $23. jannuslandingconcerts.com.

Digital TV Roadshow: In case there is someone, somewhere, who has not already heard that their rabbit-ear antenna will no longer tune in those four measly channels after Feb. 17, the government has decided to spend your tax dollars on a 20-foot truck shaped like a giant television set to spread word of the impending digital television takeover. 3-9 p.m. Wal-Mart, 8001 U.S. 19 N, Largo. Free. dtv.gov.

Peace Week : The Pasco-Hernando Community College's Peace and Social Justice Institute is hosting a series of educational sessions regarding peace around the world. Today's activities include a screening and discussion of Taxi to the Dark Side at 6 p.m., a documentary about a taxi driver who was imprisoned and killed at Guantanamo Bay. Sessions continue through Friday. Pasco-Hernando Community College, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. Free. phcc.edu/peace.

But wait, there's more: A quick search at entertainment.tampabay.com found 100 things to do today in Tampa Bay. However, we don't recommend trying them all.

What to watch for

Thursday: Blow off work, grab a date and head over to Lowry Park Zoo for the 20th Anniversary admission special: two tickets for $20.

Friday: There also will be culinary treats, distillery demos and a silent auction, but we hope you've arranged for a ride home if you're enjoying the sampling at Vodka Fest at the Ritz Ybor.
