Gallery opening: The West Tampa Center for the Arts, formerly the Santaella Cigar Factory, will host the show, "A Sense of Space." Showcase | Live music series

Summer is just around the corner and, no doubt, many are looking for a way to get out and enjoy what Florida has to offer. Well, just in time for the heat, Hyde Park Village is encouraging people to get out and soak up a little music and South Tampa ambience with its family-friendly live music series concerts. The events, which take place the last Wednesday each month, will run until Oct. 29. This summer's series kicks off Wednesday, showcasing the band Shout. Proceeds made from beverage sales will help to benefit Epilepsy Services Inc. It starts at 6 p.m. and is free to the public. Hyde Park Village, Tampa. Call 251-3500.
