To do today

Gulf Coast Museum of Art Take advantage of the museum's admission special while there's still time. It's free for July (normally it would cost you $8) to see this collection of contemporary Florida art. The museum is at 12211 Walsingham Road in Largo. (727) 518-6833. gulfcoastmuseum.org.

Mayhem Festival Black shirts and loud music will rule the day as Slipknot, Disturbed, Dragonforce and other bands bring the hard rock to the Ford Amphitheatre. Doors open at 1 p.m.; 4802 U.S. 301 N, Tampa; $31-$55.50. Call 740-2446 or visit livenation.com.

Flobots The Denver act's breakout hit (Handlebars) has an infectious tick-tock rhythm and conquering crescendo. They effortlessly swap hard riffs for some slick viola and trumpet while calling themselves "insurgents" for peace and youth activism. They play with Busdriver tonight at 8 at the State Theatre, 687 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. $14. (727) 895-3045.

Good Charlotte The lineup tonight also includes the pop/rock Emo band Boys Like Girls, Metro Station and The Maine. It starts at 7 at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater. $25.50. (727) 791-7400.

Antiques Stroll and Wine Tasting Antique shopping goes uptown at the "Hotter than July Sale." Stroll through the antique shops and fine furniture of Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. In between the mid-century retro and shabby chic you can sample white, red and port wines from Portugal from 5 to 8 tonight at the Central Avenue Antique Marketplace, 2541 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. Free. (727) 321-1576.

Souvenir Tonight is pay-what-you-can night for the American Stage play based on Florence Foster Jenkins, the deluded diva whose screeching singing has been a kind of party joke ever since RCA released a recording of her in 1954. Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins plays at 7:30. The show runs through Aug. 17 and tickets are normally $22-$35. (727) 823-7529; americanstage.org.
