Arabian Nights Belly Dance Show Check out this month's performances of the Arabian Nights show, featuring performances by visiting artists. Tonight it's Cerice Janan and Troupe Bal Hepsi. Inshore Fishing School for Women If the closest you've ever come to fishing has been picking the grouper on the menu, it's time you learned a thing or two at one of Fred Everson's fishing classes. A full-time outdoors writer and fishing guide, Everson is old-school: He builds his own rods and ties his own flies. It's also ladies night and that means admission for the ladies is two for one. Plus you'll get a copy of his book Fishing the Flats. Experienced anglers are welcome, too. 7-10 p.m. tonight Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, Tampa. $25. (813) 977-6474. skipperssmokehouse.com.

Pilgrim in the Land of Alligators: More Stories about Real Florida Even if you're a native Floridian, chances are you don't know the Sunshine State like St. Pete Times writer Jeff Klinkenberg. His stories of "Real Florida" celebrate some of the state's most creative personalities and places, from the original Coppertone girl and the actor who played the Creature from the Black Lagoon to the swamps, rickety piers and Florida's only cook-your-own pancake restaurant. Meet the author and learn there's more to this state than just pretty beaches and hanging chads. 7:30 tonight. Environmental Studies Area at Boyd Hill, 2900 31st St. S, St. Petersburg. Free.
