Nonpoint The genre known as nu metal, the fusion of alternative rock with metal and funk, got a foothold in South Florida thanks to this interracial foursome that mixes alternative metal with rap (including some in Spanish!). They play Thursday at 7 p.m. at Jannus Landing, 16 Second St. N, St. Petersburg. $16.50-$20. (727) 895-3045.

Museum Day Museums across the Tampa Bay area open their doors for a free day of culture on Saturday. Of course, most hope you voluntarily drop a donation to show some support for the cause. But this is a great opportunity to visit some of the places you never get around to, such as the Dali Museum, Florida Holocaust Museum, Great Explorations Children's Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Sunken Gardens and MOSI, Tampa's Museum of Science and Industry.
