Fall is officially upon us which means, no matter where you live, it's time to embrace the season. And while some of us can't don sweaters and others have already been wrapped in wool for weeks, women everywhere can think fall by incorporating a few of the hottest beauty trends into their daily routines.
Yes, every fall it seems that red lips are declared de rigueur. Which begs to ask the question, are you on board yet?
It's time to stop eschewing this trend as it heads with certainty to becoming a fall classic. And while reds were spotted on fall runways from Diane von Furstenberg to Ungaro, feel free to experiment with equally bold shades such as orange, as spotted at Hakaan and deep berry, seen on the models at Missoni.
You've undoubtedly seen women and girls of all ages spotting the feather hair extensions that have captured the attention of so many. Perhaps in a case of runway looks inspired by the real world, feathers made appearances at Gucci's fall 2011 runway show, courtesy of Luigi Murenu who accented ponytails with a single feather.
Those who prefer not to sport a feather daily a la the feather hair extensions that are currently in style can opt for a single feather accessory. Head to Nordstrom and pick up the By Samii Ryan Feather Clip for an easy-in, easy-out accessory that clips into hair with ease.
Bye-bye bronzer! Fall is officially here and designers seized the opportunity to toss out the sun-kissed look of summer, a la bronzer, and opt for dewy skin with school girl blushes in hues of coral, pink and the like. Brightly colored blush, think pinks and oranges, is actually uber-wearable if you know what you're doing.
Avoid blushes with shimmer (unless you are actually a school girl) and skip cream blushes if your skin is even the slightest bit oily. Application is also key; be sure to apply blush to the apples of cheeks starting application about an inch away from your nose. Blend blush towards temples, applying product less generously as you blend upward.
Trends to skip
As wearable as the above beauty trends may be, designers also churned out a bevy of looks that I'm hoping we can all agree to leave on the runway. "Trends" to skip this season include spider lashes and sideburns. No, I'm not making this stuff up. We can doom these looks to fashion failure.
