Five beauty blogs to be thankful for

It's been said that smart people know they still have much to learn. And so, while each week I dish about beauty and style, I get by with a little help from my friends. No, not the kind of friends that I share cocktails with, but bloggin' beauties that I often enjoy over a cup of coffee as I start my day.

Most stylish blogger

Emily Schuman, founder of CupcakesAndCashmere.com, blogs about fashion and food with style to spare. On any given day, you're as likely to see pictures of her in a chic ensemble as you are to stumble upon a recipe and how-to for Chocolate Dipped Macaroons. After studying sociology and media studies in college, this L.A. writer has created an immaculately penned blog that's amassed a following from coast to coast.

Beauty blogger extraordinaire

If my blog hasn't satiated your need for all things beauty, I recommend an oh-so-pretty supplement courtesy of the Makeup and Beauty blog. Penned by Karen Monterichard, a freelance writer who is also a self-admitted MAC addict, this blog is full of cosmetic reviews and makeup tips for those truly addicted to beauty. Check it out at MakeupAndBeautyBlog.com.

Local blog love

Two Bay area blogs top my list for the best local buzz in beauty, style and savings. Tbt*'s own Deal Divas host a blog that's a must for anyone looking to save money and live fashionably in the Bay. From finding out about the first "Pink Friday," to a well-edited list of the best "Black Friday" deals, the Deal Divas don't disappoint. Check it out at tampabay.com/blogs/divas.

Another local blog to love is Style Me, Tamy, where Tampa Bay stylist Tamy Lugo dishes about everything from what to wear to holiday parties to how to navigate Black Friday with style to well-edited lists of stylish musts from local boutiques. Check it out at blog.prettycity.com/styleshiloh.

Party pretty

You're well-dressed and well-groomed, but if you can't throw a great party, what's it all for? Enter Chris Nease, an events designer in Richmond, Va., and the writer behind Celebrations At Home, my go-to blog for stylish shindigs. Visually stunning, Nease's daily party updates are succinct and sumptuous, boasting gorgeous photography from at-home celebrations she's hosted, discovered or conceptualized, as well as helpful tips to turn your own life into a chic celebration. Check it out at CelebrationsAtHomeBlog.com.
