Love it: Short nails
Short, well-manicured nails have become a true style staple. Best of all, basic good grooming and a well-timed manicure are all one needs to keep this trend at hand. Add a bevy of rich color choices — think navy blue, deep chocolate, sharp corals and even neon hues (oh my!) — and this is one look I adore.
Leave it: Headbands
In the gym, I totally approve of headbands. Worn across the forehead a la Nicole Richie, this — ahem — trend is trying so hard, it's enough to make me break out in a sweat.
I love to sparkle as much as the next girl, I just prefer to get the job done via a dazzling smile, an iced ring finger or even a twinkle in the eye.
Leave it: Celebrity fragrances
Get intimate with Posh and Becks, courtesy of their scent Intimately Beckham. Opt for eau de Hot Mess, a.k.a. Britney Spears' Curious.
The truth is, I have no problem with celebs trying to cash in on the sweet smell of their successes, I'm just not buying it.
Love It: Bangles
Maybe it's my love of excess — I've always thought if one is good, 10 is better — but the recent rise of the bangle as a fashion mainstay has my wholehearted approval. Perhaps it's the fact that the jingle of multiple bangles seems so feminine, like skirts that twirl or high heels. Plus, adding bangles to any outfit is an affordable fashion DO, thanks to sites like tanojewelry.com, which offers an assortment of low-priced bangles that are high on style.
Leave it: Short bangs
Getting a good bang can be a life-changing, mind-blowing experience. Yes, the truly stunning may be able to pull off heinous bangs (think Natalie Portman) but for most of us (including Christina), the short, harsh bangs in recent favor are not flattering. Fringe that is soft, sideswept or long and layered is haute, but bangs cut more than an inch above the brow leaves me less than bowled over.
Love it: Long lashes
After my most recent lash extension excursion, I glanced in the mirror post appointment feeling utterly renewed. The truth is, there are few things in life that can make one feel completely reinvented, and lash extensions are one of them. You don't need more money or a better job to be happier; all you need are lashes that make you feel like a million bucks.
