Success Story: Having a deadline motivates bride-to-be

Did you "eat for two" during your pregnancy?

Yes, I thought I could eat whatever I wanted. I loved steak, cheeseburgers, ice cream. I ate just about everything in sight.

What inspired your weight loss?

My wedding. I wanted to lose the baby weight and look really good in my wedding dress.

What worked for you?

I went to Gold's Gym off 38th Ave. N in St. Pete and told them to give me the toughest personal trainer they had. I wanted personalized advice on what to eat and how to use the weights.

My trainer, Mike Rhine, worked with me twice a week. I immediately saw results. I also take spinning and Zumba classes. I run 3 to 5 miles, three times a week, on the treadmill.

What are you eating these days?

I've cut out sugar and alcohol and try to eat a low-carb, high-protein diet. But I also have a cheat day when I eat whatever I want.

What kind of workout gear?

Nike running shoes. I always try to look good when I work out. My favorite is probably my fuchsia top and spandex capri leggings.

Ultimate fitness goal?

To enter and finish a 5K race.
