ST. PETERSBURG — The Venue night club and restaurant has new owners, a new name and is hiring 75 people Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Applications will be accepted from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at what is now called The V. at 2675 Ulmerton Road. Some of the new jobs include servers, bartenders, managers and full- and part-time administrative positions.
The 28,000-square-foot club is undergoing light renovations, according to Daniel Disbro, a managing partner. It is slated to open May 4 with revamped menus.
The Venue closed in recent weeks after its menu offerings and number of customers were declining since fall. It first opened in 2008 promising an establishment unlike anything in the area with sushi and martini bars, tapas restaurants, champagne lounges, VIP tables and concierge services.
Entertainers who have performed there include Flo Rida and Jersey Shore cast member DJ Pauly D. Diners and dancers packed the place at times but as the economy got worse, business and offerings at the Venue declined.
