I'm looking for a Jell-O candy recipe that I used to make with my children. It was dense, cut into squares and rolled in powdered sugar. Does anyone have this recipe?

Sue Ondich of Seminole shares a recipe for pastel marshmallows. Hopefully this is the recipe JoAnn remembers. It's a fun recipe to make, especially with children. A few things worth mentioning: Generously butter the wax paper (I found it easier to do so before putting into the pan). When removing the wax paper from the Jell-O, just dampening the paper did not work for me. I wet a paper towel and placed it over the wax paper for almost 5 minutes and still had difficulty removing it. I eventually used a butter knife to coax the marshmallows away from the paper. I also used a butter knife to cut the marshmallows. Once the Jell-O has thickened, a hand mixer will do a better job than a stand mixer. Don't be alarmed when the mixture turns to a creamy color, just be sure to incorporate all of the mixture so it is uniform in color. You may have to mix longer than 5 minutes to achieve the soft peaks. Use any fruit flavor Jell-O you enjoy. Kids will definitely have fun rolling the squares in the sugar.
