The Melting Pot, a Tampa-based fondue restaurant chain, is seeking to expand nationwide and across Canada.

Specifically, the company is looking to open franchises in Anchorage, Alaska, Little Rock, Ark., Fresno, Calif., Hartford, Conn., Des Moines, Iowa, New York City, Chattanooga, Tenn., Charleston, S.C., Portland, Maine and Houston and El Paso, Texas. In Canada, the Melting Pot is considering locations in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

The Melting Pot expects to sign several new franchise agreements by the end of the year and open at least four new restaurants by 2015. Franchisee candidates should have a minimum net worth of $750,000 and liquid assets of at least $325,000 per restaurant.

In addition to fondue-style cooked entrees served with dipping sauces, the restaurant offers cheese fondues, salads, wines and chocolate fondue desserts.
