Tampa Bay burger newcomer BGR the Burger Joint will be represented at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival's annual Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray on Feb. 24. The sandwich they are featuring is their Wellington Burger, an umami bomb of prime, dry-aged beef topped with roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, garlic, mustard seed and blue cheese, served on toasted brioche a signature mojo sauce.
Dan Soronen, most recently of Shackleton's Folly in St. Petersburg, will open Brewburgers this week at 4195 34th St. S (U.S. 19) in between IHOP and Subway in St. Petersburg. It will open daily at 11 a.m., offering a variety of burgers, salads, wings and beer. His aim is to franchise the concept. Starting Thursday and running through next Thursday, the restaurant offers a free burger with the purchase of a pint, one per customer.
Paddy O'Sullivan's, which opened less than a year ago in a former gas station at 6101 Gulf Blvd. on St. Pete Beach, serving premium burgers and craft beers, has closed its doors. No word yet on what will become of the space.
