First Watch receives high marks in Consumer Reports survey

Known for its eggs Benedict and specialty pancakes, Bradenton-based First Watch has been named one of nine sit-down chain restaurants to earn high marks in taste, value, service and mood, according to a new Consumer Reports survey. The breakfast and lunch cafe also received praise for its menu variety, cleanliness and lack of noise. The report surveyed 47,565 diners to find the best meals and best deals at 102 of the nation's biggest sit-down chain restaurants. Others to receive top scores included Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano, Black Angus Steakhouse, Bob Evans, Bravo Cucina Italiana and J. Alexander's. On the low end of the ranking were Friendly's and Waffle House, which drew low marks for cleanliness and mood. First Watch has 94 stores in 14 states, including seven in the Tampa Bay area.
