After 50 years of running restaurants, Martin and Beulah Jackson have closed their La Cachette de la Plage at 635 Cleveland St. in Clearwater.
The couple moved their reservations-only French restaurant to its most recent location after running La Cachette on Gulf Boulevard in Indian Rocks Beach from 1998 to 2009. With a menu of classical French cuisine, the intimate restaurant was distinctive in the area for offering a prix-fixe three- or four-course menu, with wwine strictly "bring your own," with no corkage fee.
Now retired, the couple aims to set out on an adventure seeing the country in their RV. Meanwhile, they have sold their restaurant to fellow Frenchman Christopher Poix, who hopes to reopen as L'Auberge des Artistes in October.
