The restaurant at 432 75th Ave. in St. Pete Beach that was most recently called Oscar's will open as Bamboo Bistro Asian Diner on Saturday. With a tagline of "Healthy Food, Healthy Life," we're expecting a menu of wholesome pan-Asian dishes. For information, call (727) 363-4000.
In the Madeira Beach site that was supposed to open last year as Rad Finz Coastal Cuisine at 15000 Madeira Way, the Brown Boxer will open a second location on Nov. 1. With an original location at Pelican Walk Shopping Center in Clearwater Beach, this popular pub/grill will take over the large and well-located space that has sat underutilized for too long.
On the Rocks in Indian Rocks Beach has closed. No word yet on what will become of the space at 213 Gulf Blvd., which previously housed My Place Restaurant.
Dining for a cause
Moffitt Cancer Center and Columbia Restaurant Group will kick off "Dining for Life," a partnership to raise money for and awareness of adolescent and young adult osteosarcoma cancer. The "Dining for Life" campaign runs Saturday to Nov. 6 in all seven Columbia restaurants. Diners can donate any amount to their check. Columbia and the Gonzmart family will match the donation, and donate more than $500,000 in the fight against AYA osteosarcoma.
Deals and steals
Marchand's at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort launches its new fall/winter three-course "classic dining" menu created by executive chef Mark Heimann. The price per person is $19.25 in honor of the year the resort opened, offered nightly from 5 to 6:30. The new menu includes starters like parsnip soup with cheddar and pork cracklings, entrees like duck confit cassoulet and desserts like cinnamon pot de creme.
7-Eleven stores mark National Coffee Day on Thursday with a coffee giveaway from 7 to 11 a.m. while supplies last. Hop into a 7-Eleven for a complimentary medium hot coffee (or cappuccino, or latte) while supplies last.
