The flier says, "Make clubbin' your profession.'' Ladies get paid to party.
Yes, Vanity Ultra Lounge, the reincarnation of Studio Inc. in Tampa, is giving ladies money to come to the club.
Here's how it works. The first 100 women to arrive on Thursday nights receive envelopes at the door containing $1 to $100 in cash.
Nizam Mohammed, one of the club's owners, said promoter Epic Entertainment Productions came up with the idea to attract more people to the Waters Avenue club. The concept is common in big-city clubs but, until now, hasn't been done regularly in Tampa, he said.
The giveaway started this month as part of the club's T.A.X. Thursdays, also dubbed the Tampa A-List Experience. It is expected to continue weekly unless a big show is planned, such as the Don Omar's Meet The Orphans concert on Jan. 27.
No word on how much money is given away each week, but the lure of $100 is obviously working. Mohammed said women are lining up to get their envelopes.
The hiphop/Latin nightclub at 3603 W Waters Ave. offers free cover for ladies until 11 p.m. and $5 for men on Thursdays. After 11, cover is $10 for everyone. Groups of 10 women and more get a free bottle of champagne. Call (813) 935-5339 or see vanityultralounge.com.
