Outdoor paving materials are available in many materials, sizes and colors. With these choices, finding just the right look for your patio or pool decking is made a lot easier. But if you're trying to coordinate pavers with a distinct house color, or pool color, sometimes the perfect choice can be elusive. That's when custom colored pavers might be your solution. Pavers can often be created with varied amounts of texturing, giving them an appearance between a clean, modern block or a natural stone. And since the pavers for your project will be created from scratch, the color can be added right into the concrete, giving you a one-of-a-kind look. This can be of particular importance when there is a combination of materials used in your hardscaping. In this photograph, a natural bluestone is shown, which will be used on patio areas. This stone varies in color from a bluish-gray to a taupe. Several standard paver colors were tried with the stone in order to narrow down the color choices, then two sample colors were created. After viewing the samples on-site during different times of the day in different lighting, and both wet and dry, a final selection was made. These pavers will be used on the pool decking and coping, and the steps leading to the natural stone patios. And custom pavers can be created in a variety of sizes and shapes for a French pattern or a modern grid style installation. Whether you're trying to match your house paint, a pool color — or just trying to create something totally unique — custom pavers are a cool solution.
