Visit the 2010 Florida Orchestra Designer Showhouse

Today, the first day of spring, is an appropriate time to check out Michelle Jennings Wiebe's work as part of the Florida Orchestra Designer Showhouse at Ovation in St. Petersburg. Wiebe, who designed the master bedroom in one of two condominiums on display, wanted to invoke the vitality and freshness of this season. A hand-tufted green rug full of texture and movement was the starting point. "The rug was the inspiration," she says. Wiebe paired the green with black and cream, then turned the walls over to decorative finish artist Lisa Cameron, who applied a "rough luxe" treatment to add a subtle luminescence. "You wake up here and you'd have to be happy," she says. The show house is open daily through April 4.
