There was bound to be a Florida connection: You just knew it.
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford became the latest politician to self-implode earlier this year, when video surfaced of him smoking crack cocaine. Last month the City Council stripped him of most of his budget — and most of his power. ("It's a coup d'etat," Ford said.) The Washington Times reported the Sunshine State link:
"During his campaign for mayor, Ford vehemently denied a 1999 arrest for marijuana possession in Florida, but later acknowledged it was true after he was presented with evidence. He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and failing to give a breath sample to police."
