Fetish Con juxtaposes bondage, business in Tampa

RECOMMENDED READING

Outside the Hilton Tampa Downtown, valets wilted in the heat and cars whizzed by to hop on the Crosstown. But inside the plush lobby was an altogether different scene.

On a nearby couch, Frank, of Orlando, sat comfortably in his red leather corset and matching boots. He watched, anonymous behind his mask, as guests in business wear and bondage wear passed by. Fetish Con, an annual gathering, brought hundreds of people in the fetish community together for one weekend in August.

Going up the escalator were folks in drag; riding down were families dragging kids out onto the streets of Tampa. Inside the large conference room, to the left, two clothed women had orgasms (separately) in front of large crowds, while to the right another lay bound and gagged on the floor.

Hotel guests who made it through the gantlet emerged into Tampa's searing summer light, where people were fully clothed, heels weren't 6 inches off the ground and the only punishment was the humidity.
