From the archives: Miss Florida Awakens from Her Dream (July 14, 1958)

Here are some classic photos from the archives of the Tampa Bay Times. All four of these images were published in the July 14, 1958 edition of the St. Petersburg Times, accompanying an article on the newly crowned Miss Florida, Dianne Tauscher, and the very busy week she (and her Mom) spent in Sarasota following her selection.

Editor's note: Tauscher did not go on to win the title of Miss America 1959. That honor went to Mary Ann Mobley. Anita Bryant was 2nd runner-up that year.
