Hundreds brave soggy trails, obstacles in Largo mud run

Gray skies and a damp Saturday morning didn't stop the weekend warriors.

Granted, the nearly 300 who showed up at Largo Central Park Nature Preserve had to navigate an assortment of obstacles during the annual Play! Dirty Adventure Run.

Even the best runners struggled to schlep through three miles of soggy trails, crawl in mud pits and climb over dirt mounds, a broken down car and a concrete wall.

Finishing was an accomplishment in itself. Just ask Tamara Bagby.

The St. Petersburg native is getting married in March. For her bachelorette party, she and some friends ran the course wearing wedding-like attire.

"It's fun to get dirty, wear old prom dresses, a wedding dress, and just have fun with your friends," Bagby said. "We're all doing it together. No man gets left behind."
