The week in cute: 7 things that made us say Aww

Welcome to the Week in Cute! This week teaches us that cute doesn't have to mean panda bear. (Though it certainly can.)

First we had Elias Phoenix, 7, who appeared on the Ellen Show, with his twin, Zion.

He charmed the crowd and even offered the host a bit of advice ("Hey, be just the way you are. Do not put on any hair gel"). He also played piano and the audience's laughter was replaced by amazement. A YouTube clip has more than a million views, so far.

Take it from Ellen:

We also saw a little girl reach out to a Seattle Seahawks player (no, not that one) and bond over the things they have in "comen." Things like hearing aids and sports.

Here's the video:

Is there anything cuter than kids at a parade? How about kids at a parade trying to get a better view by standing on a fence, adorably? Check out the video here.

It wasn't all kids this week either. Times photographer Dirk Shadd tried to break the Internet with cuteness, but we were strong.

He introduced us to Monte, Jersey, Blizzard and Brown Eye. Check them out in the photo gallery below.

Okay, technically this one happened last week, but don't we always have time for a sea turtle release? Yes, yes we do.

We also had surfing dolphins. Because why wouldn't we?

Finally, we had ducks who cuddled their necks into a heart. A heart, people. If that doesn't melt yours, then nothing will.

More than 100,000 people showed up at Amalie Arena in 2016 to frolic in a huge ball pit. It was a sea of 1.2 million white orbs so vast that grown men could belly flop and remain afloat. Almost two years after the Beach Tampa packed up, some 15,000 l...

Reasons to find hope in music, movies, theater and more for 2018

This was the year that took Tom Petty. That fact alone qualifies 2017 as one of the most soul-sucking, 365-day nightmares on record. But 2017 couldn’t stop there, could it? Oh no. Put the latrine fire that is our nation’s widening politi...
