The week in cute: Eight things that made us say Awww

Our Week in Cute begins with news that Labs are the most popular dogs in America for the 23rd year. (We here at Cute HQ are not bound by a Sunday through Saturday schedule. Cute can't wait, man.) And, no, this is not just an excuse to share a photo of my Lab and Lab mix watching the Puppy Bowl. I mean, that's not my only motivation. It's newsy!

Then Lovie Smith read to some school kids. That was pretty cute.

There was plenty of cute going on over at Lowry Park Zoo and we shared some of it with you.

There were also a couple of baby lions and a typo in a Facebook post. (Totally my fault. Facebook is forever, people, learn from my shame.)

But then Kangaroo Kitty came along and made everything better.

Is there anything cuter than a mom embarrassing her (almost) college age son?

So, yeah: Nope! Nothing cuter.

On #ThrowbackThursday, we wondered about a new Mystery Monkey with our signature retro cute.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be a princess, but there's also nothing wrong with wanting a little more adventure during playtime. Watch this video of a girl asking Lego for better "girl people."

"Hanged." The front page of the New York Daily News said it all in one word on Aug. 13, 2014. Above the capital letters, which filled nearly a third of the page, was a photo of comedian Robin Williams with a somber expression, dead at age 63.The head...
