The week in cute: Nine things that made us say Aww

RECOMMENDED READING

This week we start with love. Penguin love.

If your week doesn't have one panda bear in it, you're doing everything wrong. But if you do incorporate panda viewing and if that panda bear is playing like a champion in snow, then you're making good decisions.

This albatross is 65. She's the oldest known wild bird in the world. Holy-bonus-baby-albatross! (And way to go, mama!)

Even better than new Ray Ryan Hannigan's dog winning a ribbon at Westminster is his response: "It's incredible that she went from my No. 1 bed buddy to best of breed at Westminster!!!"

Welcome, What's Your Dream (the Australian shepherd's name; we're betting he calls it Dreamy).

Sometimes, you just don't know who you'll meet in one of Tampa Bay's parks.

This time it worked out.

We were pretty impressed by this little squirrel's ingenuity. And the cute way he tries to cover up his precious nut with his best buddy's fur. Also the way he seems to totally forget everything at the end to just eat the nut. (That might have resonated a bit.) JUST WATCH THE VIDEO!

One of our favorites makes a returns to Week in Cute. Brandon piano prodigy Elias Phoenix was invited back to Ellen — and into our hearts.

Then it was back to the animal kingdom (our happy place).

More big cats = more win.

We'll close with a story of love that melted even our cold, hard hearts. Read it, if you haven't. "She's an older woman, in seventh grade," Austin Erickson told Lane Degregory. "But we're the same height, so it's okay."
