Randy Quaid not showing up
Randy Quaid's legal troubles aren't going away anytime soon; he and his wife Evi once again didn't appear in a courtroom when ordered. Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Donna Geck did not set a new court date after the couple failed to appear on vandalism charges Tuesday, instead leaving their arrest warrants active, the AP reports. The hearing was continued until Dec. 28 because the couple hadn't been served. Randy's attorney, Robert Sanger, said the two couldn't show up because Canadian authorities took the actor's passport when he and Evi fled to our northern neighbor for asylum.
ScarJo is GQ's main 'Babe'
Esquire may have named Minka Kelly its Sexiest Woman Alive for 2010, but GQ has chosen Scarlett Johansson as Babe of the Year. We'll let feminists sort out which is more insulting. "At 26, she remains fresh-faced, curious, trying on new moods and outlets of expression as easily as she changes her hair color," the mag said. What a great honor for an actress with no movie out right now.
Jess may have bought her own ring
The big talk about Jessica Simpson's engagement to Eric Johnson isn't the lack of a prenup, or how Nick Lachey just got engaged, too (well, it is those things, but bear with us); it's about her giant ring, which supposedly costs $100,000. How could a mediocre former NFL player afford that? Word is, he couldn't. But she could. PopEater's Rob Shuter says the Neil Lane ring, stuffed with a 4-carat ruby and two diamonds, was likely her own purchase.
