The bromance between Jeff Probst and Brad Culpepper simmered more quietly this week as the ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneer and his wife, Monica, made it through the second week of Survivor: Blood vs. Water.

Not so lucky was audience favorite Rupert, who was sent home in a tearful goodbye after a three-person duel on Redemption Island.

Monica seems to be securely popular with her team and smartly wary of Colton, while Brad continues to amuse producers with his punch-drunk wisdom.

This week's proverb: "Give a man a fish, eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and your whole tribe eats. Something like that."

The accent is on give a man a fish as the "boys vs. girls" strategy of Brad's alliance held.

Both Culpeppers were sporting Plant High School ball caps, a shout-out to their son Rex, who plays quarterback at the school. As noted by Probst, this family twist added layers to the strategy, since voting someone out sends them to Redemption Island to possibly compete against a loved one.

This time it was Rachel, the second woman evicted from Brad's tribe.
