On TV this weekend

FRIDAY

Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country, 9 p.m., CBS The Judds, Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert, Jennifer Nettles, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood get awards for being so popular, even people who don't like country know their names.

Say Yes To The Dress: Princess Brides, 9 p.m., TLC Hmmm … weddings with brides who wanted to feel like princesses. Is there some kind of news event coming up that this could be tied to?

SEASON PREMIERE Dual Survival, 9 p.m., Discovery Survivalist porn is alive and well, and this time, it brought along a friend! You know, in case you need a snack.

SERIES PREMIERE Neighbor Labor, 10 p.m., CMT The makers of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition get a bunch of people to help out their neighbors' homes in times of need. It's kinda sad you need to make this a TV show for neighbors to do this anymore.

SATURDAY

SEASON PREMIERE Doctor Who, 9 p.m., BBC America The doc is back, and this time he's travelling to 1969. If the show goes long enough, he just may bump into himself in the original series.

Cinema Verite, 9 p.m., HBO A documentary about the 1973 documentary An American Family, with Diane Lane, Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini. When they make a documentary about the making of this movie, we will have achieved a singularity and the world will explode.

Roadkill, 9 p.m., Syfy If this is about a giant bird, why is the title about something you find on a road. This should be called Skykill.

SUNDAY

Beyond the Blackboard, 9 p.m., CBS A teacher turns a classroom into a homeless shelter, playing right into the hands of the most recent state budget. Plus: Treat Williams!

SEASON PREMIERE Treme, 10 p.m., HBO Another season of this New Orleans-focused drama heats up, just as most Americans forget there even was a Hurricane Katrina.

E! True Hollywood Story: Sarah Palin, 10 p.m., E! When did Palin permanently make the transition from political figure to TV personality, and never the two worlds shall meet? When E! made this show.
