On TV this weekend, Aug. 23-25

On TV this weekend

FRIDAY

NFL Preseason Football, 8 p.m., CBS Another pretend game with the Seattle Seahawks traveling to meet the Green Bay Packers. Yawn. Still, it's better than watching …

America's Next Top Model, 9 p.m., CW Now the models must walk the runway on a giant turntable. As if they weren't dizzy enough.

Strike Back, 10 p.m., Cinemax Dougray Scott is a former SAS mercenary. You may remember him from Goldeneye, in which he was a former MI6 mercenary, or Mission: Impossible 2, in which he was a former IMF mercenary.

Continuum, 10 p.m., SyFy Travis gets a second CPS suit. That's good for the days when he needs to send the first one out for dry cleaning.

SATURDAY

Escape From Polygamy, 8 p.m., Lifetime A young teen falls for the son of her polygamous sect's leader. At least she knows marrying him shouldn't be a problem.

Hell on Wheels, 9 p.m., AMC Cullen and Elam must find a new source of lumber. Good thing none of those forests are federally protected parkland.

SUNDAY

2013 Video Music Awards, 9 p.m., MTV Who cares if someone is up for some kind of award? We're waiting to see if Daft Punk and *NSYNC really perform, or if it was all a stunt from MTV to keep us watching a show with no surprises whatsoever.

Oprah's Next Chapter, 9 p.m., OWN Oprah interviews her pal Tina Turner. We get it, O, you got invited to the wedding and we didn't.

SEASON FINALE Ice Road Truckers, 10 p.m., History The season finale conveniently airs after tonight's episode of Breaking Bad. That should give Jesse plenty of time to catch the end of Season 7.
