TV this weekend

FRIDAY

World Baseball Classic, 2 p.m., ESPN 2 Another reminder why spring-training games are waaaaaay too expensive these days — everyone we want to see is at this tournament, which runs through March 23.

20/20, 9 p.m., ABC Siegfried and Roy have one last performance at a charity gala, so 20/20 documents it to make sure it's true.

Friday Night Lights, 9 p.m., NBC Jason and Riggins go to New York and discover, golly, there's a lot more to the world than high school football in backwater Texas.

SATURDAY

SEASON PREMIERE The Essentials, 8 p.m., TCM Alec Baldwin hosting a show about the classics. Is this another Hulu plot to eat our brains?

SERIES PREMIERE Ashes to Ashes, 9 p.m., BBC America Policewoman Alex wakes up after being shot in 2008 in this Life on Mars sequel. So much culture for a Saturday night!

SUNDAY

SEASON PREMIERE Keeping Up With the Kardashians, 10 p.m., E! Khloe has to go to jail after missing her DUI classes because she went to Australia. She is incarcerated for mere hours and then gets drunk at lunch. We wish we were making it up. Really, we do.

SEASON PREMIERE Breaking Bad, 10 p.m., AMC We still aren't used to seeing the dad from Malcolm in the Middle selling drugs and killing people.

Russell Brand in New York City, 10 p.m., Comedy Central We knew the decision to make him host of the MTV Video Music Awards was proof that MTV doesn't know what it's doing.

SERIES PREMIERE Candy Girls, 10:30 p.m., E! You, too, can be a forgettable starlet in a music video.
