On TV this weekend
SEASON PREMIERE Fashion Star, 8 p.m., NBC Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, John Varvatos and Louise Roe are back to continue trying to swipe viewers from Project Runway. Most likely the ones who don't have basic cable.
Ghost Ships of the Black Sea: Revealed, 8 p.m., NatGeo Dr. Robert Ballard attempts to excavate two pristine shipwrecks without damaging them. Kind of goes against the term "excavate," doesn't it?
SERIES PREMIERE The Dead Files, 10 p.m., Travel A psychic and a homicide detective conduct separate investigations into apparent hauntings to compare who knows more about what happened. Okay, this one sounds pretty interesting, although what it has to do with travel is beyond us.
Restless Virgins, 8 p.m., Lifetime Five lacrosse players in a prep school make a sex tape that goes viral. Because you're nothing in lacrosse without a sex tape.
Flying Monkeys, 9 p.m., SyFy Some guy buys his daughter a monkey that is actually a shapeshifting, self-cloning murderer. Kinda like her future prom date.
MINISERIES FINALE Ripper Street, 9 p.m., BBC America If you thought this show about Jack the Ripper was going to end with them figuring out who the killer is, well, you're gonna be a bit disappointed.
Saturday Night Live, 11:30 p.m., NBC Justin Timberlake is hosting again, and is the musical guest again. You know what that means: Bring it on down to Omeletteville. Or Homelessville. Or Plasticville. Or Liquorville. Someplace ending in "ville."
American Dad, 7:30 p.m., Fox The James Bond parody ends, hopefully letting us forget the show is parodying a 50-year-old franchise. This is after the Family Guy take on Star Wars, too. Next week: Seth MacFarlane takes aim at Flash Gordon, Gone With the Wind and The Epic of Gilgamesh. Well, he probably already did those and we just missed it.
The Celebrity Apprentice, 9 p.m., NBC Donald Trump flies the crew to Orlando for a challenge. Finally, something Tampa Bay doesn't want to pry away from Orlando.
