On TV this weekend
Hoops & Yoyo Ruin Christmas, 8 p.m., CBS A special starring a cat and bunny from a greeting-card line. It's no worse than kids from a comic strip, we suppose.
The Elf on the Shelf: An Elf's Story, 8:30 p.m., CBS A special based on the book that says tiny elves hang out at your house and spy on you. And you thought the Patriot Act was bad.
Olive, the Other Reindeer, 9 p.m., CW You know, as in "all of the other reindeer." Except Olive is a dog. Cute.
SERIES PREMIERE Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse, 10 p.m., TBS Tyler Perry's 1,147th project in the past five years, this time with Michael Jai White as the former football player spun off from Why Did I Get Married? The answer, of course, is so you, too, can get your own Tyler Perry TV show.
Debbie Macomber's Trading Christmas, 8 p.m. Hallmark A college student tells her mom she's staying at school in Boston for Christmas when, in fact, she's headed to Phoenix to be with her boyfriend. Because the holidays make you extra stupid. You are ready for Christmas movies, right?
America's Cutest Pet, 9 p.m., Animal Planet That would be any pet who didn't beg for food at the table on Thursday.
Storm War, 9 p.m., Syfy Two brothers have to thwart their scientist father's plan to unleash a weather machine's destruction on Washington, D.C., while you have to thwart Syfy's plan to make you watch ridiculous original movies as you recover from a leftovers coma.
The Walking Dead, 9 p.m., AMC We like this show — really, we do — but there's a big difference between character development and simply not ever having anything happen. Luckily, the gang finds out about the barn full of zombies, so we're guaranteed at least one or two gory scenes.
Being Chaz, 8 p.m., OWN Now we can find out if Chaz Bono ever really thought he was going to win Dancing with the Stars.
Mitch Albom's Have a Little Faith, 9 p.m., ABC Bradley Whitford, Martin Landau and Laurence Fishburne star as a writer, a rabbi and a pastor who walk into a bar and — wait, wrong book adaptation.
Kourtney & Kim Take New York, 10 p.m., E! Let the badmouthing of Kim's soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries commence!
