On TV this weekend

SEASON PREMIERE Medium, 8 p.m., CBS Allison and Bridgette swap personalities, which isn't so unusual for mothers and daughters, except it usually takes about 40 years.

SEASON PREMIERE Smallville, 8 p.m., CW Lois saves Clark from the blue kryptonite, but not from the end of this series, which begins its final season.

SEASON PREMIERE Dateline NBC, 8 p.m., NBC Dateline NBC: Outdoing 20/20 since 1992.

SEASON PREMIERE CSI: NY, 9 p.m., CBS Sela Ward joins the cast and immediately finds a body in the crime lab building. Coincidence? We think not.

SEASON PREMIERE Supernatural, 9 p.m., CW Sam escapes his cage in hell. It really is Friday!

SERIES PREMIERE Meat and Potatoes, 10 p.m., Food An anti-vegan rant for people who love dead animal flesh.

SERIES PREMIERE Blue Bloods, 10 p.m., CBS Why did it take this long for Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg to get their own cop show? This sounds like gold!

SERIES PREMIERE Rachael Ray's Week in a Day, 3 p.m., Cooking She's back to cooking, this time on a network you may not even get. That's not such a bad thing.

Sharktopus, 9 p.m., SyFy A half-shark, half-octopus monster terrorizes the populace (and Eric Roberts). Would it be as scary if it had the head of an octopus and the body of the shark? It can swim fast and is smart enough to get into glass bottles!

SEASON PREMIERE 48 Hours Mystery, 10 p.m., CBS The mystery this week is about how former producer Joe Halderman possibly thought he could blackmail David Letterman.

SEASON PREMIERE Saturday Night Live, 11:30 p.m., NBC Amy Poehler is back to host, but really, she's been back so often it's not that big of an event. Justin Bieber must not be available yet.

SEASON PREMIERE The Simpsons, 8 p.m., Fox Wow, 22 years. That's the only remarkable thing about The Simpsons lately.

SEASON PREMIERE The Amazing Race, 8:30 p.m., CBS Begin your search for the least- dislikable team to root for now.

SEASON PREMIERE Desperate Housewives, 9 p.m., ABC After the mess last season made of things, they had to call in Vanessa Williams and Brian Austin Green to clean things up. That's how bad it is.

SERIES PREMIERE Sister Wives, 10 p.m., TLC The title of this show can be really misleading, if you let it be.

SEASON PREMIERE Brothers & Sisters, 10 p.m., ABC Another ABC dramedy jumps ahead in time. That's just because the writers are too lazy to get us there.

SEASON PREMIERE Eastbound & Down, 10:30 p.m., HBO Kenny is into cockfighting in Mexico. No, that's not a euphemism.
