On TV tonight
Whitney, 8 p.m., NBC Alex and Whitney head off to his parents' lake house for some nookie, but find Alex's dad living there because his marriage is crumbling. Seems they had an argument over buying the lake house.
The Neighbors, 8:30 p.m., ABC Larry puts on a musical (written by Alan Menken, actually) and ends up injuring Dick. We hope that isn't a double entendre.
The Americans, 10 p.m., FX Philip has to meet up with an old girlfriend as part of a mission, which really torques Elizabeth. It's good to know Mother Russia comes first for these spies.
Southland, 10 p.m., TNT John wonders what life will be like when he's no longer a cop. No TV show, for one thing.
