Funeral services for Bill Ratliff, a former news anchor who worked at WFLA-Ch. 8 for nearly three decades, are scheduled at 2 p.m. today, and the public is welcome.
Ratliff died Tuesday after complications from surgery at Kindred Hospital in Tampa, family members said. He was 63.
A memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa at 509 N Florida Ave. and will be open to the public, church officials said.
The family asked that donations be made to All Children's Hospital or the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. Ratliff left WFLA in 2009. He made a brief return to TV in 2010, offering political commentary for CBS affiliate WTSP-Ch. 10.
