Tim Allen set to improve fall TV lineup

Let's take a timeout from talking about fall TV 2010 and start talking about fall TV 2011. Why the leap? Because it's being reported that 2011 will bring the return of Tim Allen back to network TV. There's also an Alcatraz drama from J.J. Abrams, according to Entertainment Weekly, but this is about Allen. EW says he has been taking "a few select meetings" with writer-producers, one of whom may include Greg Daniels, the brain behind Parks & Recreation and The Office. (Could Allen be joining the staff of Dunder Mifflin?) Since hanging up the tool belt on Home Improvement in 1999, Allen has kept busy on the big screen, though few of his roles have matched his success on TV, unless you count his Toy Story voice work as Buzz Lightyear. The magazine says fans can expect Mr. Tool Time to get his pick of network projects in 2011.
