Top TV week of Aug. 25: 'Chopped,' 'Extant,' 'World's Wildest Commercials'

MONDAY

MasterChef, 8 p.m., Fox

Would you believe Cutter, the bane of our MasterChef viewing experience and all-around terrible contestant, is still in the competition? We fully expect him to win at this point, despite his mediocre cooking skills. There are only seven contestants left, after all. This week they have to whip up an apple dish and pot stickers — we're sure Cutter's a pro at both.

Brain Games, 9 p.m., NatGeo

The season wraps up with a new episode devoted to "Intuition,'' that little voice in your head that tells you what you know without knowing how you know it. My intuition tells me this "TV show" is just a cleverly disguised science lesson.

TUESDAY

The iHeartradio Album Release Party With Maroon 5, CW, 8 p.m.

Frontman Adam Levine and the rest of Maroon 5 try to drum up some buzz for their latest album V in this special filmed in Los Angeles. Just consider it your Levine warmup; come September The Voice judge will be on TV practically every day of the week.

Chopped, 10 p.m., Food

Former Chopped champions return to the kitchen for this Ultimate Champions Tournament that opens tonight. They have to cook eels and work with a super salty vegetable, but the most frightening basket ingredients are certainly these: the dessert round brings a creepy chocolate item and a "special" cheese.

WEDNESDAY

Extant, 9 p.m., CBS

Two new back-to-back episodes air tonight, starting with this one in which someone runs off with Molly's (Halle Berry) baby. How dare they!

Top Chef Duels, 10 p.m., Bravo

Two Los Angeles chefs who duked it out on Top Chef Seattle reunite in this challenge, where they cook a foraging-themed meal to impress actor and self-described forager Shailene Woodley, who's guest judging on tonight's episode.

THURSDAY

The World's Wildest Commercials, 10 p.m., ABC

Saturday Night Live and Suburgatory alum Chris Parnell counts down 20 of the wildest commercials, whatever that means.
