The Writer's Room, 10 p.m., Sundance
Jim Rash (Community) hosts this half-hour show that delves into the inner workings of popular shows' writer's rooms. New Girl is in the spotlight tonight, with creator Liz Meriwether and actor Jake Johnson (who plays Nick) joining Rash to talk about the show. Sure, they'll probably discuss the budding Nick-Jess romance, but we have more pertinent questions: When is Winston going to get his own plotlines? And are they ever going to explain the rules to True American?
Teen Wolf, 10 p.m., MTV
We've got some advice for this MTV show loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox movie as it heads into the midseason finale of its third season: Drop the silly mythology, focus more on the quirky teens.
Under the Dome, 10 p.m., CBS
In this week's episode, a mysterious woman who knows both Big Jim (Dean Norris, also on Breaking Bad right now) and Barbie arrives in Chester's Mill. And then Big Jim finds some evidence that incriminates her as a meth kingpin and ends up punching her in his garage and — oh wait, wrong Dean Norris show.
Whose Line Is It Anyway?, 8 p.m., CW
We don't really see the point of celebrity guests on this new incarnation of the improv show, but this week is a definite exception: sketch comedy genius Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele) joins the usual comedians.
Who Do You Think You Are?, 9 p.m., TLC
Chris O'Donnell explores his family tree on tonight's episode. Holy flashback Batman! Is this episode taking place in the '90s? Because that's the last time we cared what Chris "Robin" O'Donnell was up to.
SERIES PREMIERE Modern Dads, 10:30 p.m., A&E
From the network that brought us Duck Dynasty comes this new reality series about four stay-at-home fathers in Austin, Texas. We're holding out hope that this is an interesting look at fatherhood, instead of another opportunity to make lame jokes about how revolutionary it is for a man to raise his child.
Ghost Shark, 9 p.m., SYFY
SyFy's latest gorefest is about a shark that comes back from the dead wanting revenge on the humans that killed it. Of course, the ghost shark can show up in any kind of water — including the toilet, natch. Oh boy. Is this what happened to all of the sharks that died in Sharknado?
Tanked, 10 p.m. ANIMAL PLANET
Celebrities need fish tanks too. This episode revisits some of the jobs Wayde and Brett have done for well-known clients, including a shark tank for Tracy Morgan, a Houdini-themed aquarium for Neil Patrick Harris and a giant koi pond for the NFL's Bart Scott. What exactly is a Houdini-themed aquarium? Does NPH jump in with a straitjacket on and then try to escape?
