If your idea of a hot New Year's Eve date is soft jammies and a TV remote, we have some choices as you channel-surf your way into 2014.
CNN's New Year's Eve from Times Square, 9 p.m., CNN: Anderson Cooper is a sucker for punishment because you know that Kathy Griffin will make it her life's mission to once again embarrass the news man as they host CNN's coverage from Times Square. Over the years, there has been semi-nudity, saucy language and plenty of sex talk. In 2012 she stripped down to a lace bra and last year, Griffin kissed Cooper's crotch. In a statement, Cooper said, "Wait ... what? CNN hired her again? For real?" Griffin, humble as always, said, "I'm so thrilled Anderson Cooper has agreed to be my assistant once again as I single-handedly host New Year's Eve on CNN for my global adoring audience."
Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, 8 p.m., ABC: Your new year is mighty musical if you tune into the longest-named New Year's Eve special on the dial. The busy Seacreast will have Blondie, Icona Pop, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Miley Cyrus ringing in the New Year with live performances from New York's Times Square. Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy will be live from Times Square as he leads the traditional countdown to midnight. The West Coast celebration hosted by Fergie will feature performances from Capital Cities, Daughtry, Ariana Grande and The Fray.
All-American New Year, 9 p.m., Fox: The Fox channel will feature Elisabeth Hasselbeck co-hosting for the first time alongside Times Square New Year's vet Bill Hemmer. Guests will include the stars of Duck Dynasty and performances by Rodney Atkins, Susan Boyle, Blues Traveler and more.
A Toast to 2013, 8 p.m., NBC: Today's boozy afternoon anchors Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford will host a two-hour special. They will be discussing the biggest stories of the year with celebrity guests Jane Lynch, Michael Buble, Sheryl Sandberg, Questlove and more.
New Year's Eve with Carson Daly, 10 p.m., NBC: This will mark the tenth year that The Voice host has helmed a New Year's special for NBC. Before that he was MTV's ringer of the new year. Guests Mariah Carey and Blake Shelton perform and Jane Lynch, the Glee goddess of one-liners, will be joining Daly's coverage live from Times Square.
