'Dolphin Tale' brings Hollywood stars, publicity machine to Clearwater Beach in September

Tampa Bay's newest movie star, Winter the dolphin, can't travel to New York or Los Angeles to promote her screen debut Dolphin Tale. So, the Hollywood hype machine is coming to Tampa Bay. Divas make things happen like that. The media tour for the Warner Bros. release — including dozens of print, online, television and radio entertainment reporters — will be housed Sept. 13-16 at Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa. The schedule of events and guest list of celebrities won't be finalized until a few days before the event. Don't expect to see movie stars or collect autographs, because media tours are closed to the public and guarded by security cops who don't mess around. But if you see anyone in town that week who resembles Morgan Freeman or Harry Connick Jr., it just might be them. Dolphin Tale opens in theaters nationwide Sept. 23.
