If you squint really hard, you can see Dumbledore in this photo, too. Kids grow up so fast these days!

In theaters today

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The gist: A small-budget affair from a little-known book series about a boy who spends his youth honing his martial techniques in order to avenge himself on his parents' murderer. Yeah, take your kids to go see that. PG

Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Julie Walters, David Thewlis and Jim Broadbent.

The buzz: We kid; this will probably be the biggest movie of the summer, unless there's a Michael Jackson concert show waiting in the wings somewhere. "Dazzlingly well made and perhaps deliberately less fanciful than the previous entries, this one is played in a mode closer to palpable life-or-death drama than any of the others and is quite effective as such," Variety says.
