New movie

Quantum of Solace

The gist: Agent 007 returns to undertake his most dangerous mission ever: Navigating the complex back story behind what this title actually means. PG-13

Starring: Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, Jesper Christensen and Joaquin Cosio.

The buzz: Critics are James Bond's biggest threat. The Hollywood Reporter is charitable when it says, "The new picture allows hardly any flourishes of style and character in the 007 tradition, but moviegoers seeking an adrenaline rush will be well pleased." The Chicago Sun-Times' Roger Ebert isn't so forgiving: "Don't ever let this happen again to James Bond. Quantum of Solace is his 22nd film and he will survive it, but for the 23rd it is necessary to go back to the drawing board and redesign from the ground up. Please understand: James Bond is not an action hero!"
