Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges will visit Tampa during the Republican National Convention as part of the non-partisan Impact Film Festival at Channelside Cinemas. Bridges narrated and will discuss the documentary Hunger Hits Home (Tuesday, 12:30 p.m.), an examination of childhood hunger in the U.S. Other guests and films include Oscar-nominated documentarians Eugene Jareki (The House I Live In, Monday, 2 p.m.) and Kirby Dick (The Invisible War, Tuesday, 10 a.m.). The festival is sponsored by the Impact Arts + Film Fund, urging bipartisan discussion of political issues. The group's slogan is "Where film crosses the aisle," with a similar festival planned in Charlotte, N.C., during the Democratic National Convention next month. Space is limited but admission is free, available by RSVP at www.eventfarm.com/impactfilmfestivalRNC. — Steve Persall, Times movie critic
