A splash of this,a splash of that

Now That's What I Call Wild Splash! is not sold in stores. In fact, we made it up.

Wild 98.7's annual hip-hop fest returns this weekend with another eclectic lineup, from the global sounds of Wyclef to the girl-power anthem of Trina to the baby-makin' grooves of J. Holiday.

To get the party started early, we asked Tampa mix-tape guru DJ Smallz to create his dream play list using one song from each main stage Wild Splash artist. For more on the 22-year-old Tampa turntablist, hit up or catch his Sirius Radio show, Southern Smoke Radio, Thursday and Friday nights from midnight to 2 a.m. on Hip-Hop Nation, Channel 40.

For now, check out Smallz' picks for a Wild Splash '08 mixtape.

1. Wyclef Jean Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill) (feat. Akon, Lil' Wayne and Niia), from 2007's Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant. "Wyclef fuses together hip-hop and R&B with Lil' Wayne's insane lyrics and Akon's smooth R&B hook."

2. Pitbull: The Anthem (feat. Lil Jon), from 2007's The Boatlift. "Pitbull teams up with Lil Jon to stir up a fiesta in any CD player with this hit."

8. Treal: I'm Not Lockdown (single). "Orlando's newest sensation sets it off for all the single ladies and gents with an anthem they can call their own."

9. Shawty Lo: Dey Know, from 2007's Units in the City. "Everyone knows Shawty Lo by now, and his swag is infectious with this hit."

10. 2 Pistols: She Got It (feat. T-Pain and Tay Dizm), from the 2008 album of the same name. "2 Pistols gives everyone several reasons why the girl he has in mind 'got it,' and T-Pain reinforces his thoughts with a catchy hook."
