Ultimate music showcase lands at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa

Six of the Tampa Bay area's top bands and solo artists will hit the Skipperdome Saturday night for the tbt* Ultimate Local Music Showcase, the culmination of a six-week text-voting contest.

Published weekdays, tbt* is affiliated with the St. Petersburg Times.

The show kicks off at 5 p.m. with sets by longtime local bluesman Blind Buddy Moody (pictured below), garage-rock duo November Foxtrot Whiskey and folk heroes Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets.

Clearwater's Win Win Winter, current leader of the texting contest, takes the stage next, then things get wild when local rapper Aych and funk masters Bird Street Players do their thing. Word is they might even collaborate on a couple of numbers.

Doors open at 4 p.m., show runs from 5 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $5 advance, $10 at the door. Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, Tampa.
