Minus A.C. Slater, the stars of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew take you back through their signature steps. Masked winners JabbaWockeeZ wow to the tune of Michael Jackson's PYT and more. B-boys on wheels BreakSk8 put their spin on line-dance staple Cupid Shuffle. The show will also feature ABDC finalists Fanny Pak and Supercr3w.
Anberlin
THURSDAY 8 p.m. Vinyl Fever, 4110 Henderson Blvd., Tampa. Free. (813) 289-8399.
Christian rockers Anberlin treat fans to an intimate acoustic set at Vinyl Fever a few days before they're scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel. The Orlando outfit's sharp, catchy hooks and affable vibe make this free show tough to turn down. The group will also preview some songs from upcoming release New Surrender.
Brad Paisley
With Jewel, Chuck Wicks
FRIDAY 7:30 p.m. Ford Amphitheatre, 4802 U.S. 301 N, Tampa. $15-$54.25. (813) 740-2446.
Mud-trudgin' country man Brad Paisley kicks up a dynamic concert experience, complete with good-humored honky-tonk tunes, sensitive ballads and a little guitar wizardry. Like hero George Jones, Paisley amuses with "man's man" quips (you can't grip a tackle box with a spray-on tan and lotiony hands) and jabs at fame and reality television (Celebrity). But it seems deeper, darker material (Whiskey Lullaby) sticks nicely too. Jewel opens with country crossover cuts like I Do, as well as memorable folk-pop hits Who Will Save Your Soul and some Alaska-brand yodeling.
Soulfound CD release
SATURDAY 8 p.m. Gasoline Alley, 14042 66th St. N, Largo. $7. (727) 532-0265.
Clearwater alt-rockers Soulfound look to dirty up the sparkly new Gasoline Alley with full-bodied vocals, pop-punk chord progressions and energetic grooves. New disc Soulfound Is a Rock Band contains equal parts muscle and melody, but the title itself is an "attempt to shatter the over-classification that is currently plaguing music," says frontman Ivan Pena. "We are a rock band, plain and simple, although we have some fun with genres by referring to ourselves as 'domestic punk' and 'post jobcore'." The group got its start in Gainesville in 1999 in hopes of meeting girls (which perhaps explains why they've also got a knack for the big-hearted ballad). But now that they've accomplished that part, they're just in it for the love of rockin'. The Shackeltons
With Life of Pi, Thomas Wynn and the Believers
FRIDAY 9 p.m. Crowbar, 1812 N 17th St., Ybor City. $10-$13. (813) 241-8600.
Chambersburg, Penn.'s the Shackeltons bring frenzied yet infectious rock suited for fans of Fugazi, the Pixies and Joy Division. Shrieking, manic frontman Mark Redding has helped propel the group to the hot lists of Rolling Stone and Spin this year.
Enrique Iglesias
WEDNESDAY 8 p.m. Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater. $75.50-$135. (727) 791-7400.
Like famous padre Julio, Enrique Iglesias has achieved superstardom with romantic pop pleasers, including sensual overtures Hero, Be with You and Bailamos. Recently, Iglesias took measures to modernize the way any pop star should these days — with a Lil Wayne collaboration and a few fast-paced, club-ready anthems. Jeremy Gloff CD release
With Giddy-Up Helicopter, Venus In Furs, the Crate Brothers
SATURDAY 9 p.m. Crowbar, 1812 N 17th St., Ybor City. $7. (813) 241-8600.
With some encouragement from former Prince protégé Jill Jones (featured in the videos for 1999 and Little Red Corvette), Tampa's Jeremy Gloff embarked on his own '80s-styled bubblegum pop and electro adventure. Powered by a cheap drum machine he bought at a "way-off-the-radar" pawn shop on Florida Avenue, Gloff's new 1987 is witty, theatrical fun (Drama Panties).
