Where you are originally from: Kirkland, Wash.

Age I started studying my instrument: I started piano and violin at age 3, then switched to the viola in seventh grade.

Favorite date night place to eat out: Z Grille in St. Petersburg

Last book I read was: The Union of Their Dreams: Power, Hope, and Struggle in Cesar Chavez's Farm Worker Movement, by Miriam Pawel

Rays, Bucs or Lightning?: Rays all the way!

I'm an expert at: cooking

But I'm really lousy at: anything that requires a hammer or a wrench

Hobbies and interests: collecting recipes, biking, going to the beach

Some little-known yet interesting fact about you: My first professional orchestra job was in the Canary Islands.

Funniest concert moment: The time we were playing Beethoven's Ninth in what is now Morsani Hall at the Straz Center and the fire alarm went off just before the Ode to Joy and we all (orchestra and audience) had to evacuate to the street. After it was determined there was no fire, we all went back in and finished the performance.
